The food is fantastic! Everything I have tried here is quite good! Today they just raised their prices. I order was 25% more expensive than it was two days ago. This place went from a hidden gem to just another Sarasota priced restaurant! I will still eat there...but much much less often!

During my annual trip to Florida, I meet up with a dear friend where our tradition would be to get sushi. This was a place she said she does take-out often but had never eaten in it. It was a Friday night and we had walked from her house to the park, marina, local area and stopped here relatively early (~5 pm) so there were plenty of open tables. We debated about sitting outside but once the sun set, it would have been cooler. The restaurant atmosphere was beautiful. The waiter was extremely attentive, coming with the water, menu, refilling if it became halfway, seeing if we were ready to order, etc. We only ordered 3 traditional rolls which was perfect for the two of us and my friend had her usual glass of wine. See picture of the 3 traditional rolls: Spicy Salmon, Salmon Avocado, and 2 Friends which not only was perfect name for us but tuna and (yup, you guessed it) salmon that was to be topped with crunchy and spicy mayo. Notice the difference between the two photos? When our order arrived, frankly, we were surprised at the presentation, or lack thereof. Granted, it's sushi but we couldn't initially distinguish the difference as we got our waiter and asked about the 2 Friends crunchy topping and spicy mayo. He checked and shared it was rolled inside. You know how texture can enhance the experience with eating for some people? My friend requested it to be topped and he was able to have the crunch topping sprinkled on top. It was a good thing because overall the sushi were average at best. I know my taste buds are not what they were before treatments but I definitely used the wasabi, ginger and even Sriracha sauce for more flavor. On a positive note, the traditional rolls price had the final total relatively low for eating out. It was great to see restaurants getting back after all the hurricanes hit in 2024, as all the tables were filled and thus louder and harder to hear. We decided to finish up and give up the table and head elsewhere to complete our night.

We ordered a couple of poke bowls to take over to the beach to relax and enjoy the sunset. When we picked up the order, the hostess told my wife that the chopsticks were in the bag. Sadly, they were not. We scrounged around and found a fork in the car and were able to enjoy dinner while sitting on the beach so all wasn't lost. The salmon bowl was pretty tasty with a nice assortment of things on it and a pleasant sauce.
